There’s no humor like the self deprecating one.  We love making fun of ourselves and of our people- especially a certain kind: Mexicans have nacos, gringos have rednecks. So now, put together rednecks, cheerleaders, L.A. stereotypes, a bunch of well-timed punch lines, a badass dance number and you got yourself a hell of a show.  That’s what “7 Redneck Cheerleaders” is all about- pure, hilarious, brainless entertainment. 

Don’t get it twisted, this play written by Louis Jacobs and directed by Amy French is not about seven redneck cheerleaders.  “7 Redneck Cheerleaders” is a play within a play- it’s basically a play about a bunch of interesting characters putting together a play about a small-town boy who is willing to be a cheerleader for love.

Now that that’s out of the way, you’ll be able to enjoy a high quality comedy. You’ll see why this is the third time it has been brought back- something rare in L.A. independent theatre.  
There’s no drama like theatre drama, so prepare yourself for an evening filled with laughs, ego-clashes, diva fights, queer tantrums, and lots of random moments you’ll most certainly enjoy.
