IroningsIroning is among the top 5 chores we all hate to do.  Unless you’re some kind of Stepford Wife robo freak or you’re stuck in the 50’s, you’ll agree that there’s nothing pleasant and/ or exciting about ironing- let it be clothes, curtains, or lingerie.  On “Ironings”, Mung Lar Lam will change the way you see ironing. She took the most boring and obnoxious task and made some interesting art with it- she’s like the Steve Wozniak of fabrics.  Just give her some cotton fabric, starch y una plancha, and she will give you back something that will leave you con la boca abierta.

Mung Lar Lam’s installations are known for her mix of “ironed fabric” art as well as drawings and paintings, however, the spotlight seems to shine its light brighter on her fabric pieces.

It’s just incredible to see the intricate shapes, forms and patters she is able to create with nothing but an iron and a whole lot of starch.

Hi, my name is Rafael Alejandro Acero Hernandez, and I'm an alcoholic.   I don't drink beer.  I'm addicted to chocolate.   I'm a bit bipolar and every once in a while obsessive/ compulsive.   I have a really short attention span.  I don't believe in labels, I'm not defined by what I do or by who I do- for that matter.   I'm a writer, an actor, a dancer, BUT nothing is better than being a professional a$$hole.  Soy un chilango incomprendido, y como tal- valemadrista a morir.
