The most popular “alterlatino” annual concert, known as the Latin Alternative Music Conference LAMC, will take place once againto reunite those who share the same music vows and perspectives of the Latin Alternative music wave.
From NY to Beverly HillsThis grand event that initiated in New York City, was requested to relocate to Los Angeles by the “alterlatino” followers. Since 2003, the angel city has received this annual round of music, hoping to exceed the local expectations.
Between August 11th and 14th, LAMC returns as the most important reunion for this musical genre to reveal the new talents to those who want to keep up with the Hispanic theoretical new wave masters. Day and NightAs usual, an intense variety of conferences, presented by experts in the business, offer a wide array of topics. From focuses on the industry and it’s economy: “Dollars and Sense, The Changing Face of the Record Biz,” to more specific subject matters such as “LARASQ&A, Technology is our Friend.” On the other hand, the most popular part of the event is the music performed at the concerts that begin on Wednesday August 11th. The first musical performance, considered as the most interesting and traditional concert of the conference for offering the rare opportunity of intimacy between the fans and the performer, known as “Acoustic Writers Showcase,” will take place at the LATV Studios. The next performance, which will take place at the Conga Room, will present an eclectic version of B-Side Players, Curanderos, Kemo (former Delinquent Habits), Los Pinguos, and Caramelize, along with the winner of the “Battle of the Bands” of LAMC. The local band, Los Abandoned, has been invited to participate in the open concert at the Santa Monica pier, sharing the stage on Thursday, August 12th with divas Ely Guerra and Andrea Echeverri. On Friday, August 13th, “Grand Performances @ California Plaza” will debut with Niño Astronauta and Bajofondo Tango Club conducting an electronic evening in the heart of the city. More to ComeEven though the MC’s that will enliven this majestic event have not been revealed yet, the presence of argentine performer Kevin Johansen, nominated for the Latin Grammy, has already been confirmed. Of course, Al Borde, once again, will be a part of the conference by exposing the local band and talents in a festooned booth for anyone to refuge. The guests will have the opportunity to participate in the concerts and performances that they have missed during the year. For more information and details on registration for the conferences and shows, visit the official webpage: www.LatinAlternative.com. Enjoy the LAMC's fifth round! After ten years of “Musical War”, Ely Guerra will present her new material and celebrate her 10th anniversary at LAMC. “Sweet and Sour, Hot and Spicy” is her new production that includes a combination of hard rock with sensuality and electronic atmosphere. Ely Guerra, is“spicier” than ever, you can judge it by the cover. In the Hip Hop arena, Kemo “The Blaxican” will represent this new Alternative wave with his first independent album after parting from the group “Delinquent Habits. ”“Simple Plan” is the new production that was recorded in his own studio “El Patio Rojo.” Through his beats, lyrics and atmospheres, Kemo discovers his vivid tricultural “afroamexican” essence.
