BornagainPOP is the TV show and live theater show is filled with comedy pieces, music videos, skits, commercials, public awareness announcements, social commentary and experimental animations that promote awareness on social, historical and political issues. Ironic monologues are presented through out the show that touches on subjects of POP culture and Social Injustices.
BornagainPOP’s mission is to deconstruct and reconstruct American POPular culture by "cutting" out the heart of the mainstream. The goal is to co-opt the cult of celebrity as a vehicle, and in doing so, unveil the inherent lies directly and indirectly taught to us through the media, our political leaders, and a distorted understanding of our collective history as one human family. BornagainPOP forces Americans to question and critique the politics of mainstream American commercial art, or "POP ART," by illuminating the contradictions and displaced priorities of a post-modern society on the brink of chaos. | Hi, my name is Rafael Alejandro Acero Hernandez, and I'm an alcoholic. I don't drink beer. I'm addicted to chocolate. I'm a bit bipolar and every once in a while obsessive/ compulsive. I have a really short attention span. I don't believe in labels, I'm not defined by what I do or by who I do- for that matter. I'm a writer, an actor, a dancer, BUT nothing is better than being a professional a$$hole. Soy un chilango incomprendido, y como tal- valemadrista a morir. | |
