Author: Chelsea Handler Publisher: Bloomsbury Year: 2005 Price: About $14.95If Augusten Burroughs were a heterosexual woman this would probably be the book that he would write. Chelsea Handler is a riot and so are her characters. Warning to those who are offended easily this book is not for you.
Also warning to everyone else- do not eat or drink while reading this book because it could cause choking due to the frequent outburst of laughter. Let's be fair: she's not funnier than David Sedaris. That is almost impossible. And this isn't anything like Sex and the City, as “My Horizontal Life” is in good taste and Chelsea Handler is a real, breathing person who isn't obsessed with designer shoes and questioning monogamy. This is a funny read, however, it's also pretty short and can be devoured in a night's worth of reading, as it's broken into short stories and written on the primitive side of vocabulary. Really, there are more "almost" one-nighters than actual encounters, but she takes a funny spin on how she views promiscuity and sex in general. Indeed, a good book… definitely worth the read. |

| Hi, my name is Rafael Alejandro Acero Hernandez, and I'm an alcoholic. I don't drink beer. I'm addicted to chocolate. I'm a bit bipolar and every once in a while obsessive/ compulsive. I have a really short attention span. I don't believe in labels, I'm not defined by what I do or by who I do- for that matter. I'm a writer, an actor, a dancer, BUT nothing is better than being a professional a$$hole. Soy un chilango incomprendido, y como tal- valemadrista a morir. | |
