Everybody’s definition of “success” is different, very different. For some being successful means making it in show biz, appearing on a reality TV show, making tons of dinero at work, scoring a date with the hottest chick/ dude around; and then for others “success” translates to something more organic and perceptively realistic. While the saying “dream big to be big” is slightly true, not everyone that aspires a career in Tinseltown will get his or her way, just like not everyone will get a job where the big bucks will come like nothing. For some people “success” translates into happiness: being happy and making others happy in the process. See, it’s not a matter of just dreaming big, but also thinking and acting big. And that’s exactly what Nikos Bellas has been doing.
Up for the challengeNikos Bellas is a fellow Angelino from El Segundo; and while he’s only a senior in high school, he’s not your typical slacker twelfth grader with a severe case of senioritis. Throughout his tenure at Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance, Nikos Bellas has shown tremendous potential. He has been involved in various activities and clubs while still maintaining an above average standing and holding a job. For Nikos, born Nikolas Bellas, focus and ambition have played an important part in his life. At the age of twelve (yes, 12!) he started a business inspired by his love of business and film making, thus creating “Golden State Productions”. And by sixteen, he landed an eBay related job so that he could get himself a car. Now, that’s a go-getter right there. Seriously. Hearing about high schoolers like Nikos Bellas is rare and almost unheard of. It all goes way back If there is something Nikos Bellas is proud of- other than his love of business and filmmaking- is his education. He has been fortunate enough to attend Catholic schools since elementary. Even way back as a student at the American Martyrs Elementary School in Manhattan Beach, he proved to be different than the rest and surely enough scored the position of Student Council President. Forget HSMThe entertainment industry is one of the hardest, most complicated and competitive businesses to venture in, that’s why there’s no room for kids or amateurs. People nowadays need to be prepared. That’s why Nikos Bellas set his sights on Loyola Marymount University. Loyola Marymount University is a very prestigious four year university here in Southern California, and their film program is one of the most competitive. To be accepted in schools such as this one, students need to show above average excellence and a extreme eagerness to learn and succeed. Not resting only on his academic achievements and scholastic and community involvement, Nikos has set to use his hobbies as a “plus” to getting to where he wants to go. For many, being part of a school theatre production or being in the drama club is just a mere desire after watching one of the many musicals out there. For Nikos Bellas, there’s more to it than that. Every step counts, that’s why he’s very focused and is putting a vast amount of energy on his upcoming film “The Vault”, where he serves as director and producer. “The Vault” is a film about a man whose greatest enemy is his mind. Because of his drive and passion Nikos Bellas is sure to become a household name, so all the Spielberg and Lucas wanna-be’s better watch out! |
