Address: 97 Aquarium Way Long Beach, CA 90802 (562) 435-1200 The Basics: Here’s another cool joint to party that’s not in the middle of the chaos called Hollywood and its surrounding areas. Long Beach’s night scene is getting popular by the minute. Mai Tai Bar is a place to have drinks with friends, catch a buzz, mingle, listen to some live music, and get your freak on. However, Mai Tai is not for everyone since it tends to be extremely packed and at times dull. It’s one of those places that are better when you go with a big fun crowd.
The place is extremely small… you’ll be bumping elbows with everyone and if you’re a dancing demon you’ll have to tone it down or you will definitely end up giving someone a concussion. The band and the DJ alternate throughout the night, but for the most part it’s the band playing rock/ alternative/ top 40 and even some hip-hop with a rock treatment. You’ll be rocking to The Bealtles one second and then dropping it like it’s hot with their rendition of Flo Rida’s “Low”, they even throw some JT out there to get the ladies in the mood. The drinks are good… not too strong and rather sweet but the price is just right. In Mai Tai’s you’ll find a huge beer selection and lots of “teas” to choose from: Long Island, Long Beach, Tokyo… you name it. It’s definitely a place worth checking out- you’ll either come back and make it a regular hang-out spot or you’ll just forget about it… either way, it’s worth the shot. | Hi, my name is Rafael Alejandro Acero Hernandez, and I'm an alcoholic. I don't drink beer. I'm addicted to chocolate. I'm a bit bipolar and every once in a while obsessive/ compulsive. I have a really short attention span. I don't believe in labels, I'm not defined by what I do or by who I do- for that matter. I'm a writer, an actor, a dancer, BUT nothing is better than being a professional a$$hole. Soy un chilango incomprendido, y como tal- valemadrista a morir. | |
