According to Tony, the show at The Viper Room is a peep into their lower end line, Notavaz. “It’s not going to be a full collection. We’re only having 3 pieces for men and 3 for women.” In contrast to their higher end line ton Y van van which is mainly for the older professional, Notavaz is designed with the 15-to 23-year-old party kids in mind. Created four years ago when Tony and Vanessa joined their passion for the arts, Notavaz was greatly inspired by their Mexican cultures and their own every day observations.

“We’ll go on the bus just to meet people! We meet a lot of hard working people who keep us grounded. We never forget where we come from and I think that comes out on our designs,” stated Vanessa.

Currently working on their Web site, the designers have used their MySpace page and personal contacts to get their fashion line noticed. “We know a lot of people. We’ve worked for artists such as Zoé, Julieta Venegas, Ceci Bastida…and people begin to know us by word of mouth,” says Vanessa.

“We’re honest, simple people. And we want our shows to be as they have been in the past, very ‘homie’-with rock n’ roll, food and drinks. We want it to be not only about networking but also a place where people can dance, drink and enjoy each others’ company.”

After catching on to Tony and Vanessa’s concept of mixing fashion and music, KROQ and Jack Daniels decided to join in on the event by sponsoring it. “Hopefully we get to do more stuff with them in the future,” said Tony “I can’t wait for it, it’s gonna be cool.”
