The Attic Theatre presents "The Smell of the Kill," Michelle Lowe's tale of housewives turned killers. It follows the story of three malicious wives, their three unloving husbands, and a lot of laughs. While they’re no “Desperate Housewives”, they come pretty close, and why not give it a shot and check it out? It’s only ten bucks. The entire play however isn’t about the attempts of three women to kill their husbands, that’s just where it ends up. There’s plenty of maneuvering necessary to get to that point, so when it happens, you’re sort of surprised, but it’s more like the surprise you experience from an episode of a TV sitcom you’ve never seen, but feel like you’ve known for years. “The Smell of the Kill” is not a dark comedy, not a black comedy, and it’s certainly not a serious comedy. It’s just comedy. Empty, shameless comedy. When it comes to this play, that’s the thing to remember.
