Amigos y Amantes (Friends and Lovers) is celebrating its second annual art exhibit and auction benefiting AIDS Healthcare Foundation clinics in Mexico. This art exhibit showcases the work of notable and emerging LA based artists. Some of the artists that have donated their work to be auctioned at this Valentine’s Day-themed event Miguel Angel Reyes, Diane Gamboa, Carlos Vargas, Joey Terrill, Ana Landeros, among others. Last year they were able to raise more than $10,000 for AIDS treatment in Mexico. This year’s goal for Amigos y Amantes is to raise more funds than last year to provide lifesaving medical care for those living with HIV/AIDS in Mexico. This is a great opportunity for you to not only support local talent but also help for a very good cause. Although Mexico’s social security institutions offer free HIV/AIDS care, those who are not covered by social security often face difficulties in accessing both testing services and lifesaving anti-retroviral drugs. This is where your contribution with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation comes in handy, so support the art and support your gente.

| Hi, my name is Rafael Alejandro Acero Hernandez, and I'm an alcoholic. I don't drink beer. I'm addicted to chocolate. I'm a bit bipolar and every once in a while obsessive/ compulsive. I have a really short attention span. I don't believe in labels, I'm not defined by what I do or by who I do- for that matter. I'm a writer, an actor, a dancer, BUT nothing is better than being a professional a$$hole. Soy un chilango incomprendido, y como tal- valemadrista a morir. | |
