Author: Arturo Perez-Reverte Publisher: Random House Year: 2008 Price: About $25.00 Every once in a while, writers use personal experiences when writing their fiction novels, which gives them a more real feel to it. Arturo Perez-Reverte cleverle uses his life experience as a former war journalist and transfers some of the things he went through while working on several assignments to his novel “The Painter of Battles”, which follows the story of a war photographer that turns to painting as a way to escaping reality after his lover, a fellow war photographer, was killed while they were covering the Balkans War. He finds refugee in a remote beach in Spain, but even far away from his turbulent past, a picture he took while on assignment comes back to haunt him. It’s not the pictures itself, but the person he photographed that is looking for a vendetta, since that now famous photograph changed his life drastically. And while most of this novel takes place inside of the photographers head, it’s still thrilling and the war aftermath is more than real.

| Hi, my name is Rafael Alejandro Acero Hernandez, and I'm an alcoholic. I don't drink beer. I'm addicted to chocolate. I'm a bit bipolar and every once in a while obsessive/ compulsive. I have a really short attention span. I don't believe in labels, I'm not defined by what I do or by who I do- for that matter. I'm a writer, an actor, a dancer, BUT nothing is better than being a professional a$$hole. Soy un chilango incomprendido, y como tal- valemadrista a morir. | |
