Terry HaggertyEven though his work is underappreciated by many and torn apart by several critics, British artist Terry Haggerty proves everybody wrong by delivering a marvelous wall exhibit at the Hammer Museum.  His wall paintings evoke nostalgic associations from the 60’ and the 70’s by applying the most used colors of that decade’s décor- mustard yellow and avocado. Also, his work is well known for the usage of optical illusion in art and the precision of his lines that reminisce those of sugar icing on pastries.

His work is pretty abstract, more often than not misunderstood by many; however the intricate patterns and the color layering create superb wall paintings that express the formalist vocabulary of abstraction in a new way.

Hi, my name is Rafael Alejandro Acero Hernandez, and I'm an alcoholic.   I don't drink beer.  I'm addicted to chocolate.   I'm a bit bipolar and every once in a while obsessive/ compulsive.   I have a really short attention span.  I don't believe in labels, I'm not defined by what I do or by who I do- for that matter.   I'm a writer, an actor, a dancer, BUT nothing is better than being a professional a$$hole.  Soy un chilango incomprendido, y como tal- valemadrista a morir.
