The debut album of the new indie “it” girl clearly shows why she is where she is. Ingrid Michaelson has been in the music scene for some time now, playing minor gigs. It was until her music was featured in none other than indie-music-hungry Grey’s Anatomy, that she started turning heads her way. Over all, Girls and Boys is a consistent album filled with straightforward production yet complex musicality. The highlights of Ingrid Michaelson’s debut album comes from the simplest songs- The Way I Am and Corner Of Your Heart not only show how minimalism can do wonders but it also showcases the singer’s haunting and warm voice. Girls and Boys is one of those albums that you either love or hate, there’s no in between. It definitely makes a great behind-the-wheel-album.
Must [legally] download songs: Die Alone, The Way I Am, Corner Of Your Heart.
