 There was an eerie feeling to the lounge this past Saturday. The crowd of young adults that typically attend Al Borde Lounge events were replaced by aspiring journalism high school students. The Monster energy drinks that usually serve as the thirst quenchers for lounge attendees were replaced by SoBe Lifewater and the moonlight and L.A. evening breeze that usually welcomes people in was substituted by the warmth of a sunny Saturday afternoon. This was anything but the typical Al Borde lounge event.

 Curiosamente, lo hispano está ligado al Oscar desde su creación, y en la actualidad en su fabricación. La leyenda del cine mexicano Emilio, "Indio", Fernández sirvió de modelo para su diseño, y desde 1982 trabajadores hispanos de Chicago son los primeros en acariciar las preciadas estatuillas.

 As much as we hate it, Valentine’s Day is coming our way and there’s nothing in this world we can do to prevent this from happening. Whether you’re single, in a relationship or just dating someone, many of us dread V-Day.
If you’re single you get a bit nostalgic because you have no one to be your “valentine”, if you’re in a relationship te estás rompiendo la cabezota trying to think of ways to keep your “honey” happy and deliver something romantic and thoughtful, if you’re dating someone you’re beyond confused. For the latter two there’s not much of a solution but to just shush and deal with it. For the singles out there though there are plenty of options.
The last resort If you are single and you’re still trying to figure out what to do this V-Day or every other weekend for that matter and you are an extremely busy single or a mere sociopath your alternatives are limited. Your friends are tired of hooking you up with other friends, you don’t take time to get to know people, and well, looking for people on-line is out of the question- you’re not that desperate yet.
So what to do? Instead of spending the weekend getting wasted with your buddies or just being a lazy bum channel surfing all weekend long, prepare yourself for this one of a kind “quasi perfect” getaway for singles. Forget picking up chicks at the bar or at the club or wherever your favorite pick up spot is- it’s too time consuming, and with V-Day coming your way there’s only one thing to do- speed dating. |

 Mujeres cuarentonas están en búsqueda de carne nueva. Me refiero ha las mujeres maduras que prefieren ha jovencitos ya sea para un fling o para una relación amorosa. A las mujerzotas que salen con muchachos mas jóvenes que ellas se les refiere como “cougars”. Pero no son las típicas cuarentonas que vemos saliendo de Lidos bar. Tú sabes, las que salen de Lidos con sus vestiditos de licra muy entallados dejando todo al aire libre. No me refiero a esas señoras. Me refiero a las cougars de alta posición como C.E.O’s, Vice Presidents of major corporations, y tal cosa. These attractive, intelligent and powerful women are on the hunt for fresh meat, y según estudios recientes, el club de las condenadas cougars está aceptando aplicaciones. |

 Cada año los Oscars se apoderan de todos los medios de comunicación por casi un mes completo. Las expectativas son grandes y los involucrados en este festival se sienten alagados por el simple hecho de ser nominados ya que obtener una nominación a un Academy Award les otorga credibilidad y un par de ceros a su paycheck. Pero ¿Qué pasa cuando son nominados para un Razzie Award?
