Now more than ever hip-hop dance is omnipresent. Poco a poco it has gained people’s respect and opened audiences all around to a whole new world of dance.  From reality TV shows to college dance concerts, hip-hop is a must.  With several styles and crews representing, one to watch is The Groovaloos.

Perhaps one of the longest running musicals in Broadway is “A Chorus Line”, not only has it proved to be a success on stage, but the film also did quite good.  With awesome singing and lots of breath taking beautiful dance, “A Chorus Line” comes to the L.A. area.  If you have a chance, don’t miss this musical at the Ahmanson Theatre.

Santa Monica Highways Performance Space presents “Go Metro…” a production by choreographer Jamie Benson and fashion designer Andrae Gonzalo.  They return for another surreal but comedic look at the metropolitan experience, exploring characters and scenarios inspired by real individuals they have encountered on the elaborate caste structure that is L.A.’s public transportation system.   

Body Rock is one the biggest Hip Hop dance competitions on this side of the country. Whether you’re into hip-hop or not this is a must watch competition.  The dancers will blow your mind away- defying gravity, sense and sensibility.  Prepare to see hundreds of dancers leave their heart on stage, popping, locking and dropping it like it’s hot.
