Address: 4501 N Rosemead Blvd Rosemead, CA 91770 Phone: (626) 285-1241 The Basics: Open since 1967, the Bahooka Ribs & Grog is known as the “working man’s Trader Vic’s restaurant” offering a very prolific menu of tropical mixed drinks found outside the state of Hawaii: the Blue Hawaii, the Piña Colada, the Hurricane, the Zombie, and many others are all here. Some of them are flaming drinks and some arrive with the traditional paper umbrellas, fresh pineapple spear, and maraschino cherries. But be warned: their alcoholic drinks are STRONG. This lounge’s ambience has a dark, “Gilligan’s Island,” shipwreck-décor. There are 105 illuminated aquariums filled with fish—as pets—to admire and occasionally, you can hear The Beach Boys’ music in the background. |

Address: 11916 Ventura Blvd Studio City, CA 91604 Phone: (818) 980-4811 The Basics: The one thing you need to know about Clear is that it’s a very cushy lounge! Clear is aesthetically beautiful and minimalist in all the right ways. The bartenders are very gracious and courteous. Despite the ultra chic decor, the place has a very laid back in ambience. The Dj was a little stuck on 80s music, but overall the vibe was nice. It seems like a good place to meet single people or gather in a group. Clear Lounge offers great cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a happening scene. A modern cocktail lounge located on the south end of Ventura Blvd, Clear is quickly redefining what it means to be hip in the valley. The design speaks to a cozy minimalist feel, while avoiding the unfriendly black box club that is so frequent in LA. Clear has been described as "an intimate lounge that is palpably sexy." The main room features white padded vinyl walls, curved couches that span the length of the room on the right side, and a mahogany bar with clear stools. Just outside the main room sits a garden patio that reminds visitors of "Palm Springs circa 1959" with palm trees, rock gardens and Zen like seating areas. Clear has hosted numerous fashion shoots, celebrity parties, and video shoots, as will as several commercials.

Address:3211 Beverly Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90057 Phone: (213) 382-5723 The Basics: Very few places honor their names. On the ouside Medusa Lounge pasa sin pena ni gloria… it’s extremely easy to miss. However, once you’re inside, you’ll understand why the name. Just like its inspiration muse, the Medusa Lounge will leave you speechless and unable to move. Its décor is simply exquisite, perhaps something reminiscent of a Tim Burton movie, but with a tight budget. |

Address: 112 W Channel Rd Santa Monica, CA 90402 Phone: (310) 429-1851 The basics: If you’re into all the hot/ trendy lounge going on in the Hollywood area but you’re over the snobbish and ridiculously overprized cover charges and drinks, then “The Hideout” te va a caer como anillo al dedo. It’s all pretty chill and laid back, perfect for a hang-out spot after work or right before starting a party night. It’s atmosphere and cool unpretentious vibe make it perfect for bday’s, so no matter when you go, more often than not, you’ll find out someone is celebrating his or her bday. |

Address: 1630 Colorado Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90041 Phone: (323) 258-8800 The Basics: When you plan on going to a lounge there are two main things you want to do: kick it and have a couple drinks… the rest is just a plus. While many lounges nowadays feature DJs and live music, there are some that still try to keep it as cool and chill as possible. If you want to hang out with your friends, sip on some drinks and relax, then The Chalet is for you. It’s seriously relaxing… its Mountain resort vibe breezes through Eagle Rock's hipster watering hole. |
