Party like its 1984! Or maybe not. The return of this 80’s iconic band to the recording studio created huge fuzz among music lovers and nostalgic 80’s junkies all over the world. Andy Taylor’s departure from the band and their “affair” with Timbaland, Timberlake and Danja intrigued and angered millions. Even though Duran Duran return to their dance new wave origins, there’s something missing. It is Duran Duran with most of its original members, and there’s something that might hint you of what they once where, but the Red Carpet Massacre seems like it could have been anybody’s album. Timbaland and company deliver beats and catchy hooks, but other than that, there’s nothing left to hold, but the instrumental song “Tricked Out”. It is a good pop album, after all Timbaland knows his craft, but come on now, enough is enough! One thing is working with former boy band heart throb Justin Timberlake and a total different one is messing with artists such as Björk and Duran Duran. It makes a great must-have album for all hipsters and poppers out there, for the rest, it’s nothing but a huge WTF?! Must [legally] download songs: Tricked Out, Zoom In

So far this year, there’s no album out there that will make you rock as harder as The Hives’ Black and White Album. It leaves all the production trickery behind, keeping it simple, which helps them deliver a no b.s. in your face rock and roll album. You’ll find your self bobbing your head while driving, or rocking on your tighty whities at home. From the opening track til the last one, you’ll have this album on replay and on heavy rotation on your iPod. There are some amazing unexpected surprises like the haunting instrumental track A Stroll Through Hive Manor Corridors or the piano heavy Puppet On A String. For the most part it’s a solid album filled with twin guitars slamming attitude that may just overwhelm you with their energy and with frontman “Howling” Pete’s undeniable force of rock. Turn up the volume and rock on! Must [legally] download songs: Tick Tick Boom, You Got It All… Wrong, Well All Right!, A Stroll Through Hive Manor Corridors, Puppet On A String |

Two years ago, the Barcelonan duo, The Pinker Tones, began a musical revolution with their distinctive style, formed by mixing sounds from live instruments and electronic additions. Their new production, More Colours!, features more than 30 artists including the Mexican band Kinky, Zeta Bosio from Soda Stereo, Nortec Collective, and Japanese DJ Konishi Yasuharu.
Manso and FuriaProfessor Manso and Mister Furia, the artists and musicians who make up this duo, were first launched on the Internet. Their MySpace became one way to confirm the worldwide acceptance of their music. On March 2006, they had 11,000 contacts and today, near the end of 2007, their friend list contains more than 37,000. Not bad, is it? In addition to their thousands of fans throughout five continents, The Pinker Tones have met many friends in the music industry. Their recent album, More Colours!, is the result of meetings with several colleagues who created remixes of their songs for the material that was released at the end of this summer. |
