Jorge es considerado un activista del rock latinoamericano y por extensión también del rock angelino. Jorge ha colaborado con Al Borde desde 1999 y fungió como editor de la publicación durante el 2000. Además de contribuir con crónicas, criticas y entrevistas para Al Borde, Jorge ha organizado y producido multitud de tocadas locales y conciertos con bandas de todos lados del orbe. Entre las otras actividades actuales de este incansable personaje (hence, the nickname Implacable) se cuentan: ser guionista para el canal de música MUN2, instructor de galerías en el museo LACMA y editor de la sección “Estados Unidos” para la revista española Zona De Obras.
Actualmente Jorge cursa una maestría en historia en CSUN y realiza una investigación académica sobre la conexión histórica entre el rock chicano y el rock mexicano en UCSD.

Jorge “Implacable” Leal considers himself post-Mexican because he was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, has been an activist in Los Angeles since his teenage years and has regularly participated in the Mexican-American frontier cultural movement as an adult.
Jorge is considered an activist of Latin-American and, by extension, of Los Angeles-area rock. He has collaborated with Al Borde since 1999 and served as the publication’s editor during the year 2000. Apart from supplying Al Borde with chronicles, reviews, and interviews, Jorge has organized various concerts with bands both local and from around the globe. Among the many current activities of this tireless character (hence the nickname Implacable), are script writer for the music channel MUN2, gallery instructor at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), and editor of the “Estados Unidos” section for the Spanish magazine Zona de Obras.
Today, Jorge is pursuing a master’s degree in history at Cal State University, Northridge, and is researching the historic connection between Chicano and Mexican rock for the University of California at San Diego.
