Su filmografía incluye los cortos “Myself Murder”, “Technosex”, y “My Brother…Mi Hermano”, ésta ultima es una historia nostálgica y didáctica sobre la conservación de los valores familiares que enseña a los niños a no hacer uso de armas de fuego en el hogar.  El corto participó en varios festivales de cine como: Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, Burbank Children’s Internacional Film Festival y obtuvo mención honorífica en el primer festival de cortos por la Internet de MediaOne y el Road Runner.  Después siguieron dos cortos más en formato digital “The Strange Dead of Menfisto Niño” y “El Artista”.

José Alberto terminó de escribir un ambicioso guión en inglés, de 113 páginas, llamado “The Lady’s Corsage”, el cual narra la historia de una mujer que después de sufrir una enorme tragedia, trata de reconstruir su vida encontrando un nuevo amor.  Esta película la planea dirigir el mismo.   En espera del financiamiento adecuado, participa activamente en festivales de cine y escribiendo sobre cine para la revista Al Borde en su sección especial “De Cine Un Poco”.

Jose Alberto Hermosillo was born on July 17, 1964 in Teotihuacán, Mexico. He grew up among archeologists and historians who arrived to study and excavate the famous pyramids. At the age of 18, he wrote “Mujeres en la historia,” which he also adapted for the stage. In 1984, he graduated as an Elementary Education Professor and later obtained a degree in Social Sciences. He taught high school history, sociology and theatre arts. In 1993 he moved to Los Angeles to study cinematography and obtained his Certificate of Cinema Production and an Art Diploma, both from Los Angeles City College.

His filmography includes the short films “Myself Murder,” “Technosex,” and “My Brother... Mi Hermano,” a nostalgic and moralizing tale about the preservation of family values and teaches children not to use firearms. This film was featured in various film festivals such as the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, Burbank Children’s International Film Festival and had an honorable mention at the first short film festival through the Internet at MediaOne, the Road Runner. There were two other digital shorts named, “The Strange Death of Menfisto Niño” and “El Artista.”
