Considering that Narcos Season 1 spanned a decade in Pablo Escobar’s life, it would have been foolhardy to believe that the show was going to keep up at the same pace heading into season 2. And if you haven’t seen season one already, fair warning, SPOILERS AHEAD.

When we last left off, Escobar was escaping from La Catedral, slipping out the back while those who remained loyal to him were left to die at the hands of the Colombian special forces. In the season building up to that point, he’d already established his large drug trade with cocaine as the leader of the Medellin Cartel as well as won popular support from the people that could have bolstered him to a government position if he’d seemingly wanted it.

His rise from nothing to become larger than just something was loved by viewers who binged the series and have been waiting for more.

Fortunately, their wait comes to an end September 2nd in what appears to be a bloodbath of a season, which not only teases that Pablo Escobar is even more dangerous when you’ve almost caught him, but also that his death will be coming, and will happen at the hands of one of four groups.

The DEA, the Cali Cartel, Los Pepes, and the newly created search bloc who all have reasons for wanting Escobar dead, which means it’s never been more dangerous to be Pablo Escobar, and, if the tease is to be believed, never been more dangerous to oppose him.
